This Symposium has two moments. On December 12 will be held the "1st Meeting of the Observatory on Disability and Human Rights - Building and Consolidating Rights for All: Paths and Challenges”. This meeting will have a plenary session, with the participation of Yannis Vardakastanis, President of the European Disability Forum, and 5 working groups on different themes: Independent Living; Access to Health and Rehabilitation; Lifelong education and training; Informal support network and human supports and Legal capacity.
On December 13 will be held the "Colloquium –10 years of the CRPD: Research, Policies and Practices". This event is supported by the Secretariat of State for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities.
The Colloquium will have the participation of Ana Peláez, member of the UN Committee on the Human Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and Ana Sofia Antunes, the Secretary of State for the Inclusion of People with Disabilities. There will be 3 panels to discuss with participants from DPO’s, researchers and policy makers to discuss the implementation of (1) Social and Cultural Rights; (2) Economic Rights and (3) Civil and Political Rights.
